Your first stop is Truc Lam Pagoda, a peaceful Buddhist sanctuary set on a hillside overlooking the spectacular landscape of northern Vietnam. From the pagoda, enjoy a panoramic view of Ban Gioc Waterfall from above, with the cascading water, the winding Quay Son River and the surrounding limestone mountains creating an unforgettable scene.
On clear days, you can also see the landscape extending towards China across the nearby border. Take your time to appreciate the scenery, capture photographs and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this special viewpoint before heading down to the waterfall itself.
Discover the Magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall
Continue to Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Vietnam's most impressive natural attractions, located along the border between Vietnam and China. Experience the waterfall from ground level, where its impressive cascades flow through a landscape of lush greenery, limestone cliffs and the Quay Son River.
Enjoy a leisurely walk around the designated viewing areas, take photographs and appreciate the scale and beauty of this remarkable natural landmark. Where available and permitted, you may also have the opportunity to take a bamboo raft ride for a closer view of the cascading water. Visiting both the pagoda viewpoint and the waterfall allows you to appreciate Ban Gioc from two different perspectives: a sweeping panorama from above and a closer encounter with the falls below.
Late Morning: Explore Nguom Ngao Cave
Continue to Nguom Ngao Cave, a fascinating limestone cave renowned for its impressive stalactites, stalagmites and naturally sculpted rock formations. Walk through the accessible sections of the cave and discover how water and time have shaped this remarkable underground landscape.
The cool interior and dramatic formations offer a refreshing contrast to the open scenery around Ban Gioc Waterfall.
Afternoon: Local Lunch & Scenic Valleys of Cao Bang
After your cave visit, enjoy lunch at a selected local restaurant, sampling regional dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients. In the afternoon, begin your scenic drive back towards Cao Bang City.
