Did this in Feb and the weather in sapa was super foggy the whole time so we missed a lot of the views which was a bit gutting. not the tour's fault obviously but just something to keep in mind when planning. everything else was spot on - ninh binh boat ride was dreamy, Halong bay was stunning, and the guides were brilliant throughout. would still recommend, just maybe check the season before booking :)

Ninh Binh stole my heart
I came for halong bay, left obsessed with Ninh binh. i think it's genuinely underrated: the boat ride through Trang an with the karst mountains around you is just surreal and it's way less crowded than halong. sapa was incredible too, our local guide was so lovely and shared so much about her life and culture. honestly this itinerary is really well thought out, north vietnam in a nutshell

Amazing but the halong cruise felt short
Everything about this tour was great honestly : sapa trekking, the train ride, ninh binh boat caves. my only thing is the halong bay portion felt a bit brief compared to how far you travel to get there. felt like i just started getting into the cruise vibe and then it was time to leave. would love an option to extend that part even by just one night

Beautiful trips
the destinations themselves were absolutely gorgeous and i have zero complaints about the experiences. halong bay sunrise, sapa rice terraces, ninh binh caves- all incredible. only thing that knocked a star off was some confusion around pickup times and one transfer that ran pretty late. nothing that ruined the trip but just a bit stressful in the moment. overall still a really solid tour
